What. A. Night.
The first ever New Year’s Eve extravaganza at Escape to Freight Island was next level. The entire venue was buzzing with immersive entertainment from 7:30pm right through until 2:00am. The Revue took place in the Ticket Hall with a live band curated by Jenna G, P-Ro Jones, Beau Azra and The Untold Orchestra Cabaret. Energetic performers, drag and circus acts emerged from everywhere, grooving to the sound of soul, funk, disco and house. Local legends DJ Mix-Stress, Moodymanc and Will Tramp were spinning the decks late into the night.
Over in the Plant Room the legendary club night Girls on Film took over with Hattie Pearson soundtracking the evening, blasting out the best singalong anthems of the 80s, 90s and 00s. The silent disco popped off outside beneath The Circle’s mesmerising lights and all around you could join the amazing go-go dancers and fire dancers boogying the night away. The Glitterfication Station supplied the sparkle if you fancied getting jazzed up even more.
Delicious food had been served, the drinks were flowing and the party was in full swing. The atmosphere throughout the whole site was spectacular, it was an epic celebration for the roll in of the New Year! Now hold tight, let’s see what 2022 will bring at Escape to Freight Island…
