Safe & Social Manifesto

At Escape to Freight Island we are committed to maintaining a safe environment for all.

We have designed a space where you are able to socialise safely with your party, maintaining social distance from others and remaining alert to the risks of Covid-19, while being part of the overall urban festival atmosphere of Freight Island.

We have created detailed operational plans and risk assessments for all elements of our business, from customer and staff interaction as food and drink is delivered to your table, right down to the sourcing of our ingredients.

We are all in this together, one community responsible for all. For your reassurance, we have listed below some key measures that we have put in place. In return we ask that you make yourself aware, act in a responsible manner and respect those around you at all times.

We are committed to the following safety measures:

We have a dedicated Covid-19 safety officer to implement, monitor and constantly seek to improve our systems.

All Freight Island staff - management, hosts, serving, security and cleaners – are trained on every element of our Covid-19 safety operation and their responsibilities in implementing it.

There will be an orderly, staggered arrival system, with 2m of distance between groups at all times.

You will have a short welcome, briefing on the layout of Freight Island, ordering systems and etiquette before being seated.

Customers must remain in their seats at all times, unless using the facilities.

We have a managed queuing and toilet area with individual cubicles, individual sinks, disinfectant wipes and a dedicated cleaning team. Toilets operate with a one way system.

Distance of 2m between each table.

Outside seating only with maximum groups of six from more than two households. We allow larger groups if from a maximum of two households.

We're a cashless venue & have a fully contact free service via our app & QR system.

All food and drink will be delivered to and collected from designated areas on each table, minimising all customer and staff interaction.

All tables and furniture to be cleaned between uses.

Freight Island will deal with any instances of anti-social behaviour effectively and safely to protect all on site.

Face coverings must be worn when not seated. 

Hand sanitiser will be available for all throughout site.

Our priority is to maintain a ‘Safe + Social’ atmosphere for all to enjoy.
